Board Meeting Recap – July 28, 2024
The Miracle Workers Alliance (MWA) convened its regular Board of Directors meeting on July 28, 2024, via Discord’s eBoard Room. President Korey G. Miracle called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. EST, with full participation from the board members present.
Board Attendance and Key Decisions
The meeting confirmed a quorum with board members Korey G. Miracle (Founder/President/CEO), Faith D. Adams (Director/Treasurer), Jordan Anderson (Director), Samantha Boyce (Director), and Beatrix Lee (Secretary) in attendance. Directors Hailey Medina and Subreina Davis were excused from the meeting.
Minutes and Agenda Approvals
The board reviewed and unanimously approved the minutes from the June 30, 2024, meeting. The agenda for the current meeting was also approved without objections.
Reports
Executive Report
President Korey G. Miracle provided the following updates:
- Murder Mystery Event: Kaotic organized a successful murder mystery event, generating positive advertising for the organization. Plans are underway for another event during the winter holidays, to be streamed on the organization’s official channel.
- Brand Promotion: Efforts are underway with Samantha Boyce to increase the President’s visibility for brand promotion.
- Handbooks: Development of the events handbook and Discord staff handbook is ongoing.
- Collaborations: The organization is working with TGWB40 (The Great White Buffalo) to have him stream directly to our channel to promote mental health awareness and build up our following.
- D&D Event: The D&D event attracted positive attention, although a previous event on June 13 was postponed.
Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Faith D. Adams reported that the organization has the money to submit form 1023 (for 501(c)(3) status). She is currently working to finalize the budget and will submit the form once the budget has been completed and approved by the board of directors by the next meeting at the end of August.
Unfinished Business
Item 1: GTA FiveM Server
Presenter: Korey G. Miracle
- Discussion: Research into the GTA FiveM server project has been deferred due to limited resources. The current focus is on increasing awareness, resources, and obtaining 501(c)(3) status.
- Motion: Jordan Anderson proposed shelving the research until resources and the time was right. The motion was seconded by Samantha Boyce.
- Vote: 4 in favor, 0 against, 2 abstentions
- Outcome: The motion was APPROVED.
New Business
Item 1: Minecraft Realm
Presenter: Korey G. Miracle
- Discussion: The Minecraft realm has expired. Korey proposed hosting a new realm on the organization’s server computer to foster inclusion and provide a safe interaction space for members.
- Motion: Jordan Anderson motioned to research the Minecraft realm setup and discuss further at the next board meeting. The motion was seconded by Samantha Boyce.
- Vote: 4 in favor, 0 against, 2 abstentions
- Outcome: The motion was APPROVED.
Item 2: Board Activities Day
Presenter: Jordan Anderson
- Discussion: Jordan proposed organizing a team-building day with board members and the management team. A poll will be conducted to determine the best date and time for the event.
- Motion: Samantha Boyce motioned to set up a poll for scheduling the Board Activities Day and have further discussion on the event. The motion was seconded by Faith D. Adams.
- Vote: 4 in favor, 0 against, 2 abstentions
- Outcome: The motion was APPROVED.
Open Forum
No additional open forum business was presented.
Next Meeting
The next Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for August 25, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. EST, in the MWA Discord eBoard Room. The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m. EST, with a motion to adjourn made by Samantha Boyce and seconded by Jordan Anderson. The vote was unanimously approved.
